Shrink Your Customization Footprint Using Low-Code / No-Code Solutions
Presented by:
Pete Cotton, Irex Corporation
Abstract:
One of the biggest challenges to continuous adoption of JD Edwards updates is dealing with existing customizations. While the ability to modify standard objects has been a powerful feature that allowed many organizations to tailor the software to their specific needs, these modifications also present a major time sink for analysis and retrofitting whenever we apply ESUs or Application Updates. Meanwhile, Oracle has given us numerous tools that allow for solutions to be created on the glass, which bypass the need to merge our changes with an official release. This session will cover how Irex Corporation implemented an internal customization review process and provide the tools, techniques, and lessons that you can use to begin shrinking your own customization footprint.
Orchestration | Session ID: P-032675
Reinventing Quality Management using JD Edwards UDOS and Orchestration
Presented by:
Rajesh Ranabhor, JD Edwards Life Sciences
Abstract:
We are a Global Medical device company with 7 manufacturing locations worldwide. We have a sizeable JD Edwards user base of 7000 plus users using all suits Finance, Distribution manufacturing in addition to supplier portal and customer portal application. The JD Edwards instance involves customizations, Localization, Multiple Languages Bolt-ons and countries with multiple currencies.
All quality tests for Purchased items were done manually on paper and very low to no use of Quality Module in JD Edwards. With the growing company needs its was realized that this is not scalable and compliant with the quality and regulatory needs.
Our company decided to reimplement and take a relook at the Quality Management Module. There was a new set of requirements which included sampling plan, (AQL/LTPD, Reliability etc.) and Switching Rules for products received from suppliers with ability to handle multiple tests on a single item received from supplier on multiple Purchase orders. This was accomplished by using the new JDE Tools, Orchestrations and UDOS To begin with we can name a few here like 1> Enabling navigation simplicity through E1 Page 2> Leveraging Orchestration for Test Definition set up there by increasing user efficiency. 3> Utilizing Form personalization and Form extension developed a user-friendly UI. This was appealing to the user community and JD Edwards gained popularity as no longer being a rigid solution. During the project the team explored various ideas which may come in handy in different areas of business and can be utilized effectively for automation or integration with other systems.
