Mobile Inventory Implementation at The Hospital for Sick Children
Presented by:
Steve Fegaras, Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)
Abstract:
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), affiliated with the University of Toronto, is Canada’s most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children’s health in Canada. Sickkids recently completed its implementation of PeopleSoft Mobile Inventory. The impetus for this project was initially to replace an outdated 3rd party Par Inventory Management system, but the hospital has embraced virtually all of the functions available in Mobile Inventory including Receiving (PO and Ad Hoc), Delivery, Picking, and other transactions. Oracle has named Sickkids as a PeopleSoft Innovator as a result of this successful implementation. In this session, we will discuss how we managed this project, bringing internal IT staff, end users, and our implementation partner together in such a way as to help ensure project success. We will also show how we’ve extended the module using BI Publisher in both batch and real-time modes to generate various types of barcode labels needed to support mobile device scanning and replace centralized printing of documents with labels that print from mobile printers carried by Inventory staff. We will discuss our selection process for choosing a supplier of mobile computers and printers and how we overcame some of the challenges of properly configuring and maintaining them. Other PeopleSoft tools including Page and Field Configurator and Selective Adoption of new features have added to the end-user satisfaction of the final implementation of this module and to a successful rollout.

UF Health ERP Running with Oracle Analytics: A Successful Case Study
Presented by:
Thomas Lee, UF Health
Abstract:
Thomas Lee previously demonstrated how UF Health Jacksonville leveraged Oracle Analytics to revolutionize its data-driven ERP decision-making process, achieving an impressive 86% annual improvement in operational excellence. Building on this success, UF Health Jacksonville is now expanding its centralized data analytics model across other hospitals in Florida to establish a corporate-standardized approach. This presentation explores how legacy ERP systems, such as PeopleSoft, Lawson, and similar platforms, can be modernized and transformed into dynamic, analytics-powered solutions. Attendees will gain insights into using Oracle Analytics as a proven, scalable solution for driving operational efficiency—not just as an implementation project, but as a transformative enterprise initiative.

Project Costing Even Better: How Sarasota Memorial Hospital Rolled Out Fluid Project Request and Project Insights Quickly and With Great Results!
Presented by:
Jeff Dudas, Sarasota Memorial Health Care System
Abstract:
SMH has been live with project costing for 7 years. We were excited to hear about the recent release of fluid project request as we were already looking for alternatives to our existing paper-based project request form. While looking at project request, we also took a second look at the Project Insights. The good news is that we’ve successfully deployed both and did so very quickly. Our business users immediately saw the value of the new Fluid Project Request and Project Insights. We’ll share our process of evaluating and implementing the project request: How we were able to use page and field configurator and event mapping to tailor functionality, and where we extended functionality to meet the unique needs of the hospital’s capital budgeting process.

Dev Tips: Uses for MViews and Structuring Data with Dynamic Trees
Presented by:
Jon Fromin, Northwestern Medicine
Abstract:
This presentation will dive into two thought-provoking topics specifically for PS Developers. Using Materialized Views can lead to huge improvements in SQL performance as well as provide a layer of isolation to base tables. And everything can be managed from Application Designer! Also, have you ever wanted to create and reference a hierarchy of otherwise non-hierarchical data (perhaps nesting locations or BU and cost center)? Trees is the technology of choice here. And no, you don’t have to maintain them manually. Come learn how!
