Many traditional Oracle developers are asking themselves if they should invest their time in the new middleware technologies. Despite many years of Java presence in the database, PL/SQL is still number one choice for most seasoned Oracle DBAs and developers. BPEL and middleware technologies are making the shift to occur allowing separation of integration from business logic. BPEL is simpler than most developers think and if used pragmatically, it can significantly improve traditional PL/SQL integration processes.
