(Canada) PRP 33617006 was posted (for Release 9.2 only) to My Oracle Support on January 25, 2022.  The Patchset contains the following patches which will also be included in HCM 9.2 Image 42 and Tax Update 22-B.

  • (Canada)  Patch 33617006 – CAN: CREATE 2021 T4A PDF TEMPLATE FOR BI PUBLISHER PROCESSING delivers 2021 T4A PDF template, data source, report definitions, and options for BI Publisher.
  • (Canada) Patch 33618767 – CAN: T4A CANADIAN YE ACCESSIBILITY SCRIPT UPDATES FOR 2021 LEG CHANGES updates Tax Form Accessibility verbiage for T4A for year-end 2021.
  • (Canada) Patch 33703082 – CAN: ZERO DOLLAR EXEMPTION IS IGNORED IN TAX CALCULATION AND TAX IS TOO LOW modifies PSPCNTAX.CBL to recognize zero dollar amount exemptions when calculating taxes.

 (Canada) Patch 33703082 – CAN: ZERO DOLLAR EXEMPTION IS IGNORED IN TAX CALCULATION AND TAX IS TOO LOW was posted on January 25, 2022 to My Oracle Support for Release 9.1, 9.0 and 8.9.  These changes will also be included in Tax Update 22-B.

(Canada) Patch 33722803 – CAN: PRINTING ISSUES ENCOUNTERED WHEN USING CRA T4A PRE-PRINTED FORMS was all posted by January 27, 2022 to My Oracle Support for Release 9.2, 9.1, 9.0 and 8.9.  These changes will be also included in Tax Update 22-B.  The patch modifies CTX910AP.SQR to accommodate the alignment issues with the new 8 ½ X 14 size T4A pre-printed slips.

(U.S.) Patch 33722949 – SPECIAL WITHHOLDING TAX STATUS PROMPT MAY NOT DISPLAY ALL ACTIVE VALUES was all posted by January 26, 2022 to My Oracle Support for Release 9.2, 9.1, and 9.0.  These changes will also be included in Tax Update 22-B. The patch modifies PeopleCode to display all active translate values for the Special Withholding Tax Status on the Federal and State Tax Data pages.

(U.S) 33770559 – MODIFY OHIO QUARTERLY WAGE REPORTING PROGRAM FOR EMPLOYERS WITH MULTIPLE COMPANIES was all posted by January 26, 2022 to My Oracle Support for Release 9.2, 9.1, 9.0 and 8.9.  These changes will also be included in Tax Update 22-B. The patch modifies the programs to comply with the reporting requirements for employers and agents with multiple companies.

(Canada) 33801849 – CAN: UPDATED 2021 T4A PDF TEMPLATE FOR BI PUBLISHER PROCESSING was all posted by January 28, 2022 to My Oracle Support for Release 9.1, and 9.0.  These changes will also be included in Tax Update 22-B. The patch delivered 33617006 – CAN: CREATE 2021 T4A PDF TEMPLATE FOR BI PUBLISHER PROCESSING objects not included in Release 9.1 and 9.0.

Targeted Postings after Tax Update 22-A:

(Canada) 33778968 – CAN: REFLECT NET CLAIM AMOUNT ON PAYCHEQUES USED IN TAX CALCULATION will be targeted to post in March to My Oracle Support for Release 9.2 only.   Canada Revenue Agency allows a calculated variable amount for the 2022 Federal Basic Personal Amount (BPAF), also known as the Net Claim Amount.  The Canada Revenue Agency also states that employees may claim $14,398 as their Basic Claim Amount on their 2022 TD1 Personal Tax Credit Return. When reviewing their paycheques, employees are confused by the display of the default net claim amount of $12,719.00.

Using the BPAF of $12,719.00 takes into account the employee’s net income to determine the appropriate BPAF resulting in the correct calculation of taxes, but $14,398 will not.  Employees with BPAF declared as $14,398.00 and have net income greater than $155,635 may have an amount owed on their income tax and benefit return at the end of the tax year.  The patch will deliver changes to reflect the calculated net claim amount if different than the TD1 amount.

(U.S.) 33652070 – 2022 COLORADO FORM DR 0004 will be targeted to post by March 11, 2022 to My Oracle Support for all releases as well as included in HCM 9.2 Image 42 and Tax Update 22-B.   Colorado has created their own W-4 equivalent form.  The changes require batch calculation modification, auto tax updates, administrator page changes, and for Release 9.2 adding Colorado for State Tax Withholding PDF and updates for Paycheck Modeler.

(U.S) Patch 33671121 – OH LOCAL CCA EFW2 CHANGES FOR 2021 REPORTING: MODIFY RS RECORD will be targeted to post by February 14, 2022 to My Oracle Support for all releases, as well as included in HCM 9.2 Image 42 and Tax Update 22-B.  Ohio Local CCA EFW2 has a due date at the end of February 2022.  Ohio Local CCA: RS record is modified.

(U.S.) 33745435 – W4 PDF: UPDATE FEDERAL FORM W-4 2022 will be targeted to post by February 14, 2022 to My Oracle Support for Release 9.2 as well as included in HCM 9.2 Image 42.

(U.S.) 3817020 – 2022 U.S. PAYROLL TAX & LEGISLATIVE ITEMS TOO LATE FOR 22-A DELIVERY will be targeted to post by February 18, 2022 to My Oracle Support for all releases as well as included in HCM 9.2 Image 42 and Tax Update 22-B.  Planned changes as of this newsletter are for Arkansas, Delaware, New York, Mississippi, and Washington DC.

Payroll for North America Focus Group

We will be starting the Focus Group again for this year in February.  Thank you to all those who participated last year. PeopleSoft Focus Group allows our customers a voice on our roadmap, design, and often a preview of enhancements. All you need to participate in a focus is an Oracle Customer Participation Confidentiality Agreement (CPCA) completed. Once you have a CPCA on file with Oracle, your organization may participate in other focus groups.
