Changes to the PeopleSoft Application Image Delivery Schedule Beginning 2023
Beginning January 1, 2023, the PeopleSoft FSCM, HCM, and Campus Solutions applications will adopt a delivery schedule of 3 Images per year instead of 4.
Payroll for North America will deliver 4 tax updates per year instead of 5. Tax updates will continue to be included with the PeopleSoft HCM Images except for the end-of-the-year tax update, which is delivered using a PRP.
Robbin Velayedam, Senior Director, PeopleSoft Product Strategy, provides further detail in his blog, “Changes to the PeopleSoft’s Application Image Delivery schedule beginning 2023 (an Important Update)”

Available Postings after PI43/Tax Update 22-C:
(U.S) PRP 34038427 was posted for Release 9.2 to My Oracle Support on August 10, 2022. The Patchset contains the following patches, which will also be included in HCM 9.2 Image 44.
- (U.S.) 34038427 – NACHA RULE CHANGE: MICRO-ENTRIES
- (U.S.) 34360557 – PAY INCORRECTLY DISTRIBUTED WHEN BALANCE OF NET PAY MASKED ACCOUNT IS NOT UNIQUE
(U.S.) 34038427 – NACHA RULE CHANGE: MICRO-ENTRIES
Nacha introduced a new rule to standardize practices and formatting for Micro-Entries, which are used for prenote validation. This change is needed to comply with the Nacha Micro-Entries Phase 1 rule effective September 16, 2022. (https://www.nacha.org/micro-entries), which separates the prenote transactions from regular direct deposit in the batch and updates the Company Entry Description with ACCTVERIFY.
To adopt the change, you must have implemented 31085963 – Off-Cycle Direct Deposit Files: Payroll for North America feature delivered in HCM 9.2 Image 36.
(U.S.) 34360557 – PAY INCORRECTLY DISTRIBUTED WHEN BALANCE OF NET PAY MASKED ACCOUNT IS NOT UNIQUE will be included in Tax Update 22-D. The patch updates programs to correctly distribute the deposit amount when the net pay account’s last four digits are not unique.

U.S. Year-End Forms Ordering
For U.S. Tax Year 2022, PeopleSoft will support U.S. year-end forms with two vendors, R.R. Donnelly and FormsTax.
Follow updates for U.S. year-end forms order at Oracle Support Document 2892457.2 (EPY: Ordering U.S. Year-End Tax Forms for the 2022 Tax Year and Beyond).
Special Note: Puerto Rico Form 499R-2/W-2PR
Beginning with tax year 2022, Puerto Rico Form 499R-2/W-2PR is not supported for printing year-end data on pre-printed forms. However, you will be able to use updated Puerto Rico year-end functionality that will be delivered for the tax year 2022 (if updates are required) to load the employee data to the year-end tables, create the Puerto Rico electronic file using TAX960PD, and submit the file to Puerto Rico to obtain the Electronic Filing Confirmation Number. (The Electronic Filing Confirmation Number must be printed on the W-2PR forms.)
For the tax year 2022, employers who have previously printed Form W-2PR data on pre-printed forms in-house should plan on using a third-party vendor to print the W-2PR forms for Puerto Rico employees.
Special Note: Form 1099-R
Beginning with tax year 2022, the 2 vertical Form 1099-R is not supported for printing year-end data on pre-printed forms. For the tax year 2022, employers who have previously printed Form 1099-R data on the 2 vertical pre-printed forms should plan on using the 4 corner or 4 corner pressure seal form.
Reminders:
- Employers who report W-2 data for New Jersey should be aware that, because of the unusually large number of data items that New Jersey requires to be separately printed on Form W-2, there is a very high incidence of data overflow that results in the printing of a second New Jersey W-2 form for each employee with New Jersey reportable data. To avoid running short of blank W-2 forms, in determining the quantity of forms to order, it is suggested that employers anticipate that two blank forms will be needed for each instance of an employee with W-2 data to be reported to New Jersey.
- Employers reporting W-2 data for Pennsylvania should be aware that employees who reside and/or work in multiple Pennsylvania local tax jurisdictions will require more W-2 forms. A separate employee Tax Balance record is created each time that Pennsylvania Local Earned Income Tax is withheld from an employee for a different Political Subdivision (PSD) Code. Each tax balance record represents a separate iteration of local wage and tax data that must be reported on Form W-2. Data for only one local tax jurisdiction can be printed on each Form W-2. To avoid running short of blank W-2 forms, employers should consider the mobility of their Pennsylvania employee population in determining the quantity of forms to order.

Anne’s Thoughts
Payroll for North America – Quick Calculation
In HCM 9.2 Image 43, Payroll for North America introduced the new feature Quick Calculation. I highly recommend customers look at this feature as an easy added value for your payroll department. Quick Calculation allows the administrator to select an employee to calculate and see the paycheck results directly on the payline. There is no longer a need to wait for the entire pay calculation process to complete in order to check on one employee calculation.
To implement this new feature, select 34111454 – QUICK CALCULATION: INSTALL QUICK CALCULATION FOR PAYROLL USA AND CANADA.
For a demo of Quick Calculation, replay Advisor Webcast PeopleSoft Payroll for North America Tax Update 22-C General Information Session to see the functionality in action.
