• Deployment & Commissioning: Register equipment details, manage warranties and contracts, and create commissioning work orders. 
• Operation & Utilization: Track asset usage, monitor performance, schedule labor and parts, and allocate costs through equipment billing. 
• Maintenance & Optimization: Automate preventive, reactive, and condition-based maintenance; manage work orders; and analyze failures. 
• Retirement & Disposal: Safely decommission assets and integrate with fixed assets for proper financial tracking.

Recently Delivered Enhancements 

Daberkow showcased several high-impact updates—many of which originated directly from Quest SIG user requests: 

• Planned Finish Date Calculation: Work orders now automatically calculate planned finish dates based on estimated hours and shop calendars, eliminating manual date entry and improving scheduling accuracy. 
• Work Order Ledger: Provides a powerful audit trail of changes, enabling visibility into who made updates, what was changed, and when. This strengthens accountability and simplifies cost variance analysis. 
• Resource Assignment Usability: New QBE (query by example) search capabilities, restrictions to prevent assigning resources to closed operations, and an option to import assignments from Excel streamline scheduling and crew management. 
• Processing Options for Resource Removal: Automatically clear resource assignments when work order statuses change, ensuring accuracy across the system. 

These features simplify user experience, automate business processes, and enrich functionality—directly aligning with Oracle’s long-term JDE strategy. 

Roadmap: What’s Coming Next 

The CAM team is actively developing enhancements based on customer feedback, including: 

• User-Defined Preventive Maintenance Scheduling: Create custom frequency patterns (e.g., seasonal usage) instead of relying on hard-coded values. 
• Optimized PM Projections with Associations: More accurate forecasting by accounting for related maintenance tasks across service types. 
• Visual Parent-Child Equipment Hierarchy: Tree-style views with interactive part lists for faster maintenance planning. 
• Flexible Work Order Status Selection: Choose whether work order status derives from activity rules or maintenance rules, reducing manual effort. 

These improvements promise greater precision, flexibility, and usability for asset managers.
