By now you have realized the "magic" behind JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator: the fact that every orchestration is, in practice, an EnterpriseOne REST API. But REST APIs are typically "stateless." They run, do their work, and finish. What about use cases in which a process has to pause in the middle for actions, approvals, or manual steps, and then start back up again where it left off? We now have a feature called "Stateful Orchestrations" to accommodate those scenarios. And here's an added bonus: a new "While" step in Orchestrator enables you loop over a dynamic condition.

The Customer Master Portal is a status-based controlled system that integrates with JDE to streamline the customer master record creation. It is built on JDE orchestration, which automates the workflow and validation of customer data. The portal also uses the Smarty Street plugin/APIs to verify real-time customer addresses and a ReactJS framework page to design the front-end interface. The portal works in two steps: 1) Create a customer master record, which captures the essential information, assigns a temporary number to the customer, and generates a workflow to queue the request for approval. 2) Approve the record, which triggers the orchestration to create an actual customer in JDE, populate the category codes and other fields based on the rules and steps defined, and update the status of the record.

The Customer Master Portal has transformed the JDE customer creation process by automating data validation, ensuring accurate and consistent customer records, and providing a user-friendly approval system. This innovation has led to improved data quality, reduced errors, and a more efficient workflow. The portal also prevents the creation of duplicate customer records, enhancing overall user satisfaction and streamlining the customer onboarding experience.
