Reorgs of your physical files can save space and improve performance. But the IBM RGPFM command can lock the file for an unfortunate and unpredictable period of time. And it sometimes can't be stopped. ReorgWizard is part of the ARCTOOLS toolset on the IBMi. You can reorg your files without those extended file locks. Records are moved around while users are online, and the recovery of deleted space is accomplished with a brief exclusive lock.
