Brigham Young University partnered with Gideon Taylor to lift and shift their PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environment from the BYU data center to be managed and run in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Come learn from the team how the project was pursued, preparation steps, approach, validation and go-live activities. Technically the presentation will dive into key integrations, database replication approaches, OCI design, and other considerations. In addition, details will be shared regarding the project plan, resources involved, and involvement from the student account team, financial aid office, and other teams. Lastly, Gideon Taylor was selected as the implementation partner that worked with BYU staff to make this transition to run PeopleSoft in the Cloud. An update will also be given regarding performance, stability, and day-to-day experience with PeopleSoft running in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Your students don’t compare your PeopleSoft experience to other ERP systems. They compare it to TikTok, DoorDash, Snapchat, and similar apps on their phones. If the experience doesn’t reflect the intuitive digital interactions they are accustomed to, they bounce, call the office, or give up.
The good news: you don’t have to rip out PeopleSoft to meet that moment.

In this session, we’ll show how you can deliver modern, user-first experiences while keeping PeopleSoft as the secure system of record. Using a real-world Continuing Education solution built with City Colleges of Chicago, we will walk through an app-like journey powered by PeopleTools, GT WebUX, GT eForms, and the eForms Assistant, from search and registration through checkout.

We will then look ahead at how new PeopleSoft features, AI, Ida and GT eForms for Cloud support interactions, personalization, and cloud portability, giving institutions a realistic path to adopt emerging capabilities without disruptive rewrites.

You’ll leave with concrete ideas, patterns, and examples you can apply to your PeopleSoft system.

The session will highlight a “touchless processing” design philosophy, including:

• Standardizing data and controls to enable straight-through processing
• Leveraging delivered PeopleSoft functionality (no custom code) for stability and scalability
• Using AI and Oracle Analytics for real-time visibility and proactive exception prevention
• Reducing manual touchpoints and match failures
• Moving from reactive support to predictive, self-correcting operations

Our approach demonstrates how organizations can reach top-tier performance by simplifying the system, not complicating it, and fully utilizing the tools already available within PeopleSoft.
