Building Enterprise AI Agents for PeopleSoft: Architecture, Security, and Lessons Learned

Organizations are under increasing pressure to adopt AI while continuing to maximize their existing PeopleSoft investments. This session presents a practical approach for building enterprise AI agents that securely interact with PeopleSoft without requiring application replacement or large-scale modernization efforts.
Attendees will learn how AI agents can leverage PeopleSoft APIs, Integration Broker services, and enterprise identity platforms to provide conversational access to HR, Finance, and administrative processes. The session will cover architectural patterns, security controls, human-in-the-loop approval mechanisms, auditability, and governance considerations required for enterprise adoption. Real-world implementation experiences will be shared, including integrating AI agents with PeopleSoft using Microsoft Copilot Studio, API Management, and secure authentication frameworks. This session will highlight key innovations in PeopleTools 8.63 and how customers can take advantage of the latest capabilities, including smarter search experiences, AI-enabling technologies, expanded integration options, strengthened security, improved lifecycle management, and continued advances in application development and user experience. We’ll also discuss the broader PeopleTools strategy, including Oracle’s approach to emerging technologies, automation, platform modernization, and the evolving role of PeopleSoft Cloud Manager in simplifying lifecycle management and cloud operations.
Seven Months to the Cloud: Indiana’s PeopleSoft Lift‑and‑Shift Story

Abstract:
After years of planning, multiple attempts, a very successful proof-of-concept effort and finally securing funding, the State of Indiana has completed a lift-and-shift of 20+ PeopleSoft environments from the local legacy data center into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This accelerated, seven-month project required significant architectural decisions, a review and update of all interfaces and extensions and a mammoth testing effort. We will tell the story of our project plan, decisions along the way and obstacles that threatened our successful move of PeopleSoft to OCI with the hope that our experience is helpful if a PeopleSoft lift-and-shift to OCI is the right next step in your organization’s cloud journey.
Taking advantage of PeopleSoft HCM Configuration Tools to Reduce or Replace Customizations

For the past 5 years, The City of Calgary has been actively learning and utilizing the various configuration tools that PeopleSoft has delivered within their applications. This includes everything from global tools like page and field configuration, questionnaire framework, acknowledgement framework, lockdown framework, drop zones, event mapping and app engine plugins. As well as module specific delivered configurations within Core HR, Benefits, Pay and Time and Labor. This session will explore different tools and how we are using them and some strategies on when and how we decide to take advantage of them. Whether it is through PUM/PeopleTools upgrades, enhancement work or implementing new functionality, we will share what has worked for us and how we continue to move the needle in reducing the customization footprint.
