Oracle Identify Management Suite consists of an LDAP directory service known as Oracle Internet Directory [OID] containing access control attributes and a series of web services through which applications can obtain and/or manage these attributes. Applications use these attributes in making access control decisions. This promotes information sharing by giving users access to the appropriate data without the need for them to first obtain an account for each application. This can also decrease the administrative burden for an application (the application no longer has to perform this account management).
OID can support enterprise identity authorization for your enterprise applications to expedite access to information systems, enable life-cycle identity management, and reduce costs of otherwise application based, autonomous authorization. This presentation will explain how Oracle Identity Management solutions, including Oracle Virtual Directory, Oracle Identify Federation, and Oracle Access Manager can be used to consolidate identity management into a single, secure, full life-cyle process for the enterprise.
