Oracle Extends Support for PeopleSoft to 2031

Customers often ask about Oracle’s support policy for PeopleSoft. In 2018, Oracle announced support for PeopleSoft through at least 2030. At the same time, Oracle confirmed that there would be a rolling 10-year commitment to support PeopleSoft. As 2020 begins the 10-year window to 2030, Oracle began reviewing and planning to extend support by one year, each year, until Oracle’s investment and support strategy for PeopleSoft changes. After this review, Oracle has announced that support for PeopleSoft will be extended to 2031! The Lifetime Support Policy datasheet for Applications has been updated, and now shows all PeopleSoft continuous delivery releases supported through at least 2031.

A blog post written by Rebekah Jackson, Vice President, explained that “not only is Oracle committed to continuing support for the PeopleSoft applications, we are also actively investing.  That means strategic capabilities like chatbots and new analytics platforms and integrations with Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, enhancements to product features and functions, and the many regulatory updates you rely on.”

A second post written by Jackson explained that Oracle will remain committed to a rolling 10 years of support for PeopleSoft. Oracle will review and plan to extend support again next year, and the year after that, so that customers have a decade of committed support and can plan your enterprise software investments accordingly.

As before, it’s not just about bug fixes. Oracle is actively investing in the products. A new release is posted nearly every month, and new features for HCM and ERP are delivered every quarter. Jackson explained that Oracle is hard at work on Kibana analytics, new chatbots, powerful features like modernizing Job Data or Supplier Classification and Certificate Management, and much more.

Oracle is also rapidly adjusting priorities in order to respond to urgent requests, based on the dynamic and unpredictable way your business needs are changing.

Due to COVID-19, Oracle is monitoring and responding to customer requests for support extensions, such as PeopleTools 8.56 patch support. The announcement of these extensions and details can be found on the COVID-19 Updates for PeopleSoft page. This page is being updated regularly, and Oracle will continue to post updates as needed.
