In a recent episode of PeopleSoft Talk with Marc Weintraub, Steve Morgan, Product Management Director, discussed how insight and information delivery to a procurement group is crucial. To ensure the right decisions are made, PeopleSoft has made many updates and improvements to the delivery of valuable information for those involved with the procurement process.

Supplier Scorecarding

Supplier Scorecarding allows you to identify at-risk suppliers so you can be proactive about looking for alternate suppliers if you see a supplier is trending downwards regarding quality and delivery.

Procurement Operations Homepage

The Procurement Operations Homepage allows you to monitor your supplier’s performance. It checks on things like overdue purchase orders and expiring contracts; you can also add your supplier to a supplier watch list (users can set up thresholds and events to make sure that they don’t violate those thresholds). There’s also a series of analytics such as the Supplier Scorecarding trending analytics.

Requisitions

For the requisitioner, there is now the ability to create, approve and receive a requisition, all within the Fluid interface. This gives users the ability to handle the same transaction on multiple devices. Also, once the user submits a requisition, you can go into the “My Requisition Tile” and see all the information related to the requisition – the status, add to the requisition, budget check the requisition, etc. Additionally, there is Fluid Receiving, which allows the user to scan using a mobile device.

Fluid Approvals Transaction and Page Composer

Managers love Fluid Approval Transactions. It gives the user all of the approvals in one place. Previously in Classic, the user had to go to multiple components and now with Fluid, approvals are all in one place and can be filtered by type, priority or support line level. PeopleSoft continues to deliver new approval types. Page Composer is another powerful tool; it gives you a drag-and-drop interface, where the user can go in and change the layout and the style of the Fluid requisition header or line information.

Other Features

PeopleSoft has introduced new features to contract functionality; such as the ability to auto approve a new contract version on a specific date, the ability for users to set up thresholds at the contract level and the capability to renegotiate contracts with your supplier. There are numerous other enhancements planned.

One of the main things planned for buyers is the area of strategic sourcing. Steve described these enhancements as having an event administrator or a buyer creating events for suppliers or bidders to bid on. Also, there are new search capabilities; PeopleSoft has made this process a lot easier for the event administrator or the buyer so they can search for suppliers that meet their needs.
