Operationalizing NoSQL (MongoDB, Couchbase, Cassandra) in the Enterprise: A Mind Map

NoSQL based databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra and Couchbase have become mainstream and Oracle RDBMS heavy enterprises are struggling to take them on. In order to be successful, Database organizations in these enterprises need to understand and create database selection criteria, NoSQL design and deployment standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), adequate QA/PoC testing, vendor management, skill upgrading, cost management, data modeling standards, etc. In this talk, we will make the case for introducing NoSQL into the enterprise and use a “Mind Map” to categorize various activities along these vectors. We will “walk the tree” along each of these vectors and use this structure to expose, explain and address these challenges. Interactive Q & A is encouraged!
