This session provides an overview of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Full Stack Disaster Recovery (FSDR) and how it applies to PeopleSoft workloads. Drawing from a real-world deployment, the presentation covers what FSDR offers out of the box — from compute and storage replication to database switchover and load balancer pre-provisioning — and where supplemental automation may be needed. Attendees will gain a clear picture of how FSDR fits into a PeopleSoft disaster recovery strategy and what to expect when planning and running DR drills. Whether you are exploring disaster recovery options for PeopleSoft on OCI or looking to understand what FSDR brings to the table, this session will give you practical context to inform your approach.

This session will explore how organizations are unlocking low-cost automation opportunities while producing high impact within JD Edwards by leveraging native tools such as Orchestrator. Instead of investing in costly third-party platforms, companies are maximizing the value of their existing ERP to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and deliver measurable business outcomes. Embedding automation directly within the ERP increases system value and improves overall system adoption leading to a reduced total cost of ownership and significantly accelerating return on investment (ROI). Equally important to the technology are the organizational strategies that enable success. We will highlight key drivers such as strong alignment between business and IT, cross-functional collaboration, and disciplined governance. Through a real-world example, we will show how this alignment enables faster automation, scales impact across the organization and drives measurable ROI. Attendees will leave with a practical perspective on how to increase efficiency, improve agility, and fully realize the value of their JD Edwards investment.

The construction industry's 500,000-worker shortage didn't happen overnight—it resulted from 30 years of systematic decisions to eliminate entry-level pathways, underinvest in apprenticeships, and push everyone toward four-year degrees. Today, experienced tradespeople retire at a 5:2 ratio to new worker recruitment, leading to project delays, cost overruns, and the loss of irreplaceable knowledge across the industry. Technology organizations are now repeating this pattern at an accelerated pace. Research reveals that 35% of positions labeled "entry-level" require three or more years of experience—an impossible paradox for new graduates. As AI systems automate routine tasks that historically provided learning opportunities for junior employees, technology companies reduced new graduate hiring by 25% while simultaneously increasing recruitment of experienced professionals by 27% between 2023 and 2024. Recent interdisciplinary research examining AI's impact on the workforce across multiple sectors. Will show how eliminating entry-level pathways creates long-term talent shortages, recognize parallel warning patterns between construction (1990-2020) and technology (2020-present), identify early-warning metrics in their own organizations, and implement actionable strategies to preserve workforce development pipelines while embracing AI innovation. Unlike construction—which took 30 years to recognize its talent crisis—technology leaders have perhaps 5-10 years to change course. This session provides frameworks for avoiding construction mistakes while maintaining a competitive advantage through sustainable development of the talent pipeline. The title references the late 1990s, when construction began to make these critical errors; the content ensures that technology doesn't repeat them.

How do you turn a stalled automation initiative into a scalable, high-performance enterprise solution? For J.B. Poindexter & Co., a global leader in transportation and manufacturing, the answer was identifying a solution flexible enough to navigate the complexities of eight distinct, decentralized business units. In this session, J.B. Poindexter and IntelliChief reveal the blueprint for automating complex accounts payable environments within JD Edwards. We’ll go beyond the 3-way match to discuss technical hurdles that can derail standard automation, including handling special charges like freight and volatile tariffs, and complex non-PO invoices. Attendees will learn how J.B. Poindexter: · Consolidated 8 different operational processes into a single, transparent workflow. · Rescued stalled automation aspirations by prioritizing platform flexibility over "out-of-the-box" rigidity. · Shifted their team’s focus from manual data entry to high-value analytical research and supply chain optimization. · Gained the audit tracking and visibility necessary to improve discount capture and process efficiency.

Generative AI is the buzzword of the moment—but what can it actually do in a real “day in the life”? In a classic Dilbert cartoon, when asked for a business requirement to design a system, Dilbert replies, “We need a system to define requirements.” Today, that same question applies to AI: everyone says GenAI can do everything—but what can it really do for me?

Most organisations focus on upgrading or extending JD Edwards — but overlook the platform that ultimately determines its performance, cost, and resilience. In this session, Steltix introduces Digital Powertrain Engineering — a proven approach to optimising the platform that powers JD Edwards, without changing the application itself. Across multiple customer environments, this approach has delivered: •30–40% infrastructure compression •40–50% run cost reduction where optimisation levers exist •5–10× faster batch processing windows •Material improvements in responsiveness and stability under load We will share where this has been applied, what challenges were addressed, and the measurable outcomes achieved across different JD Edwards estates (on-premises, cloud, and hybrid). Attendees will gain insight into: •Why the platform layer is the most overlooked driver of JD Edwards performance •The impact of engineering the environment correctly — on cost, speed, and reliability •Common characteristics of high-performing JD Edwards estates •Real-world results from organisations that have taken this approach This is not about replacing JD Edwards — it is about engineering the platform that powers it.
