Title: Business as (un)Usual – 2022 and beyond: Building persistence, resilience, and a sense of purpose
Session ID: 111440

The road to post-COVID recovery is long—and for many, the journey continues to be uphill. Global inflation is rising. The talent market is tightening. And supply chain disruption abounds. It’s not an ideal environment for growth. Yet, these challenges have introduced a host of opportunities for companies that are prepared to pivot. Where old business models have faltered, new ones are emerging. In this interactive session, we’ll examine how consumer, employee, and investor demands are shifting, what high-performing organizations are doing differently, and where organizations are making the biggest bets. Outlining how 2022 is shaping up and highlighting where the business landscape has been permanently altered.

Enterprises can no longer slow down or stop―for even a minute. The costs are simply too high. Industry estimates put the average cost of IT downtime at $5,600 a minute, with the range of losses between $140,000 and $540,000 per hour. As part of their efforts to keep this expensive downtime at bay―and to ensure the continued viability and availability of data flowing through enterprises, data managers are increasingly turning to strategies such as automation and cloud services. Still, they continue to have difficulties and acknowledge that keeping their data environments up-to-date is holding them back from delivering more capabilities to their organizations.

In today’s competitive landscape companies need to evolve to become digital enterprises and in turn modernize their systems to reflect these changes. Part of that evolution is the way in which organizations’ consume enterprise software, moving from major, disruptive upgrade projects, to the more widespread adoption of smaller, more frequent software updates.

Testing is an essential component of any update project. In fact, testing activities can account for up to 60% of the total effort required, and this can be a huge burden on scarce resources. Customers test to eliminate risk, so a robust testing regime should include both functional elements, to ensure the system is producing the desired outcomes and to see how the updated system operates under pressure. Given that manual testing requires time and effort, test automation can provide significant advantages, helping you to run smaller, faster and smarter projects.

Objectives

In this presentation we will outline how testing smarter can enable innovation by reducing the time and effort of functional testing freeing up valuable resources.

We will demonstrate how Business Analysts and Super-users can set up their own test scenarios quickly and easily, taking ownership of their test automation.

Learn how testers can do more for less and projects can be delivered faster, helping to increase operational efficiencies.
