Oracle has stated that the most significant reason for releasing 8.57 initially in only the Cloud is to build awareness of the benefits of running PeopleSoft applications in Oracle Cloud. Oracle is heavily investing in making PeopleSoft systems easier to manage and maintain in the Cloud.

Several features within PeopleSoft that help with Lifecycle Management, like PeopleSoft Update Manager, Change Assistant, PeopleSoft Test Framework, and Application Data Sets. The new release of PeopleTools 8.57 includes enhancements to these features that will help make LCM even easier.
