       Upcoming User Groups/Webinars/Conferences:

Strategy Spotlight HCM Image 46 – tentatively scheduled for release in late May 2023 – will be the first PeopleSoft HCM release on PeopleTools 8.60.  As a reminder, Tools 8.60 was made available for PeopleSoft customers running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in October and for on-premise customers in December of last year.  There are a number of exciting new features you can look forward to with Tools 8.60 including:

  • Improvements to the user experience with the new Redwood Design user interface that provides a modernized interaction that is consistent with end-user expectations
  • Global search and quick access bar available on all pages for easy access and navigation
  • Configurable Search allowing for configuration of search fields and results’ displays for any component in PeopleSoft that requires user search
  • Application Services Framework to support the creation of consumer application services to invoke third-party provided integrations
  • Automation of PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) source management including improvements to PUM Automated Updates (PAU)

Focus Group Updates:   Click on the link to find a focus group to join

  • Visualization Working Group –  The workgroup provided an update of their organization’s roadmap for uptake of Insight Dashboards and building of their own analytics during the February meeting. The March meeting will be a continuation of this conversation.
  • Absence Management – There will be a focus group meeting on March 15th to review the final design of the Fluid Leave Donations, gather requirements to fluidize the Absence Events and Create and Maintain Absences pages, and to review the recently released Manage Absences page
  • Time & Labor – There will be a meeting on March 22nd to review the Configurable Job Selector, review the Reset ECD for Rehires feature, and to discuss the requirements for the Direct Reports Fluid Time pages feature.
  • Enterprise Learning Management (ELM)– This month the focus group had a special guest from the PeopleTools Strategy team who reviewed what to expect and new features in PeopleTools 8.60 – which will be the tools release that the ELM image 23 will be released on.  We are wrapping up development on our new manager self-service pages and start planning for Objectives for Learner self-service. Our next monthly meeting will review some of the upcoming projects we are looking at as continued discussion over certification status enhancements that are being proposed.
  • Benefits – The Focus Group met to start discussions about the SECURE 2.0 Act and their organization’s plans to implement some of the 92 provisions. Many of the customers on the call have just started to investigate how the new legislation may impact their Savings Plans and what voluntary provisions they may add.
  • Performance Management – With the release of the PeopleSoft Fluid Performance Management in January the focus group met and discussed next steps with future enhancements by reviewing what was delivered in image 45 and what will be released in image 46.  The next focus group we will wrap up our discussion on fluid business objectives and will begin looking at Recognition and Accolades.
  • Accessibility – The next Accessibility focus group call is scheduled for March 22 (if you would like to join email [email protected])

 ***Important Note*** Focus Groups are open to all customers, calls are typically once a month for an hour or as needed.  Your organization needs to have a current CPCA (customer participation confidentiality agreement) since Oracle discloses future design and prototypes.

  • United States – Form I-9 is expiring this October, Dept of Homeland Security has announced significant changes to the form, but has yet to release a finalized new form (TBD).  They did announce that organizations should continue to use the expired form until a new form is released.
  • United States – On December 29, 2022 the SECURE 2.0 Act was signed into law by President Biden as part of the Consolidate Appropriations Act of 2023 (HR 2617).  It contains 92 provisions affecting United States retirement savings plans.   • Malaysia – The Malaysian Government presented the budget for the Financial Year 2023-24
  • United Kingdom – HMRC has confirmed that the BACS hash code in FPS is no longer required from 2023-24 FPS submissions
  • United Kingdom – Further to the Start of Year (SOY) changes for 2022-23, the Department of Works Pension (DWP) has announced that there are no changes to the Pension Thresholds for 2023-24
  • Hong Kong – The statutory Minimum Wage (SMW) has come into force since 1st  May 2011. With effect from 1st  May 2023, the SMW rate was increased from $37.5 per hour to $40 per hour
  • Japan – The Government has submitted a proposal to increase the Employment Insurance Rates and is pending approval from the Imperial Diet. Once the bill is approved the rates will change from 1st April 2023
  • India – As per the announcements in Budget 2023, there’s an increase in the tax rebate limit, an increase in the tax-exempt income slab, an increase in the tax-exempt leave encashment limit
