Strategy Update – We are very excited to have Dan Iverson join our PeopleTools Strategy Team! Dan, one of the top PeopleSoft/OCI Architects on the market, brings over 20 years of consulting experience. He has worked for school districts, cities, counties, states, and private companies, helping them take advantage of the latest PeopleSoft technology capabilities. Dan is also very active in the Oracle community and has been recognized as an Oracle ACE since 2017 for his outstanding technical contributions to the Oracle community.

We look forward to Dan helping us shape the future direction of PeopleSoft technology while continuing to work closely with the PeopleSoft community.

  Focus Group Updates:   Click on the link to find a focus group to join

  • Payments – Focus group met in July to discuss proposed solution for Supplier Payments Using Virtual Cards.  We shared our solution approach and got feedback from focus group members looking to implement virtual credit card as a payment method in Accounts Payable.
  • NSF Process ***NEW*** – Focus group will be meeting in August to discuss improvements to the NSF/Returns process in AR and Cash Management.
  • eProcurement and Oracle Business Network (OBN) – We delivered a new ‘deep integration’ between PeopleSoft eProcurement and Oracle Business Network allowing customers to leverage OBN to help manage their Supplier Catalogs. Please read this blog for more details.
  • Project Costing – The team is actively working on a new enhancement for the way project accountants and administrators assign project costs to capitalized assets.  The focus group will meet in September to review changes described in this  Idea Space.
  • Asset Management – Focus group will be meeting in mid-August to discuss asset tracking.  Key topics include asset tagging and scanning.
  • Supplier Contract Management – The focus group met in June to discuss opportunities to add PS Insights for Document Authors and Administrators.  Insights would provide visibility to documents with potential bottlenecks in the approval, review, or signature process and document compliance issues, allowing users to take necessary action.
  • Purchasing – The focus group will be meeting in September to discuss a top Purchasing enhancement request to improve the visibility to Procurement Contracts, Purchase Orders, Invoices, and Payments

  • Billing – Ability to specify courtesy copy email address
  • Lease Admin– Workflow while Activating and Amending a Lease
  • General Ledger – Chartfield Security in Journal Upload
  • Maintenance Management – Inactivating Preventative Maintenance Schedules on Disposed Assets
  • Expenses – Converted the Classic Expenses WorkCenter to the Fluid
  • Project Costing – Enhanced the project resource table to track year, period and journal date for entries sent to General Ledger
  • Contracts & Grants – Enhanced Grants pages to update the terminology from CFDA (Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance) to ALN (Assistance Listing Number)
  • Purchasing – Automated Procurement Creation and Maintenance using delimited and fixed file layouts.
  • Purchasing – Enhanced Supplier Relationship Management to increase supplier portal security by sending an access code to the primary email id and validating it to proceed.
  • Supplier Contract Management – Added the ability to reuse canceled amendment sequence numbers for future amendments to match audit control requirements.
  • Strategic Sourcing – Added the primary email ID to the bidder profile and when the bidder is converted to supplier, the same primary email id is used to send the access code for validation

 ***Important Note*** Focus Groups are open to all customers; calls are typically once a month for an hour or as needed.  Your organization needs to have a current CPCA (customer participation confidentiality agreement) since Oracle discloses future design and prototypes.
