This presentation will cover how you can utilize open source tools to monitor the status of your PeopleSoft systems, identifying things such as crashed processes, domain up/down, long running processes, and others. For this session we will demonstrate how we have used Zabbix to be a one stop monitoring and alerting solution for our clients. Since we are using OpenSource tools, we are not limited to only monitoring PeopleSoft related systems - we can extend this across all business applications as appropriate.

This presentation will cover identifying system performance issues within the PeopleSoft applications, as well as provide suggestions for tuning. One-third of the class will focus on tuning the application stack (e.g. Web and App server), where the remaining two-thirds of the class will cover identifying slow running SQL, and how this can be tuned to run more efficiently by re-coding, adding indexes, or even making database level changes. The class will attempt to be database/system agnostic, but most examples will be done on Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. Target audience is system admins, developers, and DBAs of PeopleSoft systems.

I plan to review the Guardian Finance transformation journey moving from a decentralized network of applications to our current integrated platform in the cloud with a focus on our EPM journey and what we've implemented (i.e. Planning, Allocations, Master Data , Consolidations...).
This discussion will also include our program's case for change and the guiding principles aligned to best practices from where every key decision was measured against.
I will also include our implementation timeline and critical success factors like the need to make quick decisions, performing appropriate due diligence for qualified partners and the importance of training and change management.
My session will conclude with lessons learned and next steps in our transformation.

Join the Clerk & Comptroller of Palm Beach County as they reminisce on their journey down a road that few choose to travel... that of an Oracle to SQL server database conversion.
Most neighboring villages were shocked at their decision to forge that path, but the Clerk staff was determined. Many battles would ensue, victory guaranteed to no one.
However in the end, they would go on to achieve their quest, surprising even the naysayers. Here you will find the highlights of the epic battle, strategies for overcoming challenges, and tips for future travelers.
Taking the road less traveled was not for the faint of heart, but in the end they discovered we were capable of many great feats along the way, including upgrading hardware and installing a new PeopleTools version.

UX One Pages and UX One Object Cross References can be thought of as pre-built UDO bundled gifts from Oracle. These are free for JDE customers to download and use, but many customers haven’t yet taken advantage of these whether in whole pages or in parts (single objects on your own composed pages). Come to this session to see how to review the objects that are available, how to modify them to fit your data, how to manage them in the UDO Workbench, and finally how to use them on your own Composed Pages.

The phrase “Continuous Adoption” with your JDE software for some seems daunting because it sounds to most people as “Upgrading”. This strikes many with apprehension and concern rather than excitement to be on the latest/greatest Oracle has to offer in JD Edwards. Norman’s Nursery will share with you firsthand how this doesn’t have to be thought of as “upgrading” but as “staying current” on JD Edwards. Norman’s Nursery will also discuss the concerns most companies have related custom objects and the project ‘cycle’ itself for these Code Current / Tools Updates versus the traditional "Upgrades”. Besides hearing from Norman’s Nursery about why they stay current, get a year-by-year synopsis of EnterpriseOne 9.2 since 2015.
