EnterpriseOne upgrades are daunting for every customer. One of the biggest struggles is figuring out what to test when updating your E1 system. Tools Release upgrades deliver a specific type of change and designing a test strategy specifically for these updates can reduce the time it takes to upgrade and makes it easier to stay current with the product.

In order to make digital business with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne easy, accurate, and timely as well, users need to start learning about Orchestrator, get a sandbox, pick a problem, solve it, and engage with peers and partners. A.J. Schifano, Product Manager for Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, spoke about patterns that lead to digital transformation when using the JDE EnterpriseOne Orchestrator.

Oracle has provided best practices for managing User Defined Objects (UDOs) in a way that allows users to get optimal use out of them. The video was intended for users who administer and maintain UDOs, and it covered information on UDO security, UDO administration, and UDO lifecycle management.

The Weitz Company upgraded to Release 9.2 during the fall of 2016. In 2017 we undertook an exercise to see what it would take to apply all the latest available Electronic Software Updates (ESU’s). With Tools 9.2.3, JD Edwards released 64-bit enablement for the Enterprise Server and Development Client. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne has supported 64-bit hardware, operating systems, databases, Java, and middleware for many years. Multiple JD Edwards components, such as HTML Server, AIS Server, Orchestrator and other Java-based components, are 64-bit enabled. To round out the architecture, JD Edwards now enables 64-bit processing for the Enterprise Server and Development Client as well.

The Anschutz Corporation, a privately held holding company headquartered in Denver, Colorado, underwent a major Address Book project within their JD Edwards system. The company was facing 17 years of incomplete and inaccurate data that led to inactive and duplicate records that were overflowing the system. To combat the problem, the Anschutz Corporation decided to clean up and standardize the data, inactive old or duplicate records, and automate their validation process.

Senior Business Analyst at Innocor Inc., Michael C. Johnson, shared how Innocor implemented JD Edwards Requisition Self-Service and utilizes it within the organization. Innocor is a leader in consumer specialty foam products and polyurethane foam for their commercial customers. Their customers include major bedding retailers, furniture, auto, and other manufacturers. They have 22 plants in the United States and an annual revenue of roughly $1 billion.
