Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) 11gRelease 2 has laid the ground for Oracle's grid infrastructure, preparing the Oracle RAC stack to be the foundation for private clouds. The 11.2.0.2 patch set completes this development, providing an even more dynamic cloud. OracleRAC 11.2.0.2 includes the new Oracle Cluster File System, Cloud Edition, an enriched version of the ASM-based cluster file system. It also includes Quality of Service Management (QoS), a new feature, which allows for optimized workload management in the cluster. In addition, further improvements like reboot-less node membership management and Redundant Interconnect Usage have been introduced to round up Oracle's new cloud offering. This presentation will given overview of these new features and discuss the changes introduced by Oracle's latest database patch set.
