This is a game changer for audit readiness, compliance, and operational efficiency in the JDE space. We all know the pain of IT General Controls (ITGC) in the public sector, especially when it comes to manual User Access Reviews in JD Edwards. The traditional process often includes Pulling data from multiple security tables, reviewing access across environments and role definitions, and chasing approvals via spreadsheets and email threads.
It’s tedious, time-consuming, error-prone, and a nightmare to audit.
The Good News: It Can Be Fully Automated
Using a combination of JD Edwards, ReportsNow, and Orchestrator, we’ve completely automated the User Access Review process—no manual intervention required.
• Reports are auto-generated directly from JDE security tables and sent to each individual manager.
• User access is compiled and organized by role and responsibility.
• Outputs are formatted and ready to deliver to your auditors.
• Approvals are digitally tracked and stored.
The only thing we haven’t automated? Bugging managers to respond.

One of the most powerful new features of JD Edwards release 25 is a new UDO, EnterpriseOne Widgets. This powerful tool allows you to create, publish, and visualize data that an orchestration can produce! Think of it as an evolution of Watchlists by allowing the source of data to come from orchestration output. Widgets are not simply the badges you have seen with Watchlists but allow for visualizations such as bar or pie charts as well as gauges to keep track of metrics within a range.
This is what executives and leaders in your organization have been asking for, a way to see what is happening in JDE at a glance whether it be sales, purchasing or even manufacturing! Did I mention it is included as part of your JD Edwards licensing was long as you are on the April update for Release 25? Let us show you how you take the “digital gold” within your JD Edwards instance and mine for actionable and visualizable output!

Safety is an ethos at Hoffman Construction that carries all the way over to IT. Some of our key processes that utilize orchestrator require quick action if any piece fails. Rather than using the built-in orch error handling, which requires lots of granular forethought, we developed a solution that allows us to designate a given orchestration as a priority, and also designate individual emails to notify if that orch errors, all within the Orch Cross Reference, all softcoded.
The goal is for us, the technical process owners, to hear about issues BEFORE our users report them. This allows us to often fix the issue prior to our users waking up.
We will walk through our thought process, the setup of the orch itself, our unique use of the cross reference, and we will also distribute a copy of the orchestration to interested attendees

What started as a simple task—giving our Chief Human Resources Officer a plain-language rundown of HR roles—somehow snowballed into a full-blown investigation of all non-data roles. Our JDE pulled together a list of every role in the system and analyzed program access, and that’s when the barrel of fun officially tipped over.
Turns out, our roles were like a chaotic monkey chain, tangled in overlaps and redundancies. One role connected to another, which connected to yet another, like an elaborate game of digital Whac-A-Mole. After much wrangling, we finally arrived at an undeniable truth: a major security overhaul is barreling toward us, whether we like it or not.
