In 2020, Brown & Root got approval to upgrade to JD Edwards 9.2, and the team wanted to emphasize training as a way to make the upgrade as smooth as possible. With the extensive changes to the user interface, numerous additional features, and increased functionality, Brown & Root looked to enhance its knowledge of version 9.2 and find training options that made the best use of users’ time and energy.

Oracle JD Edwards recently announced the availability of EnterpriseOne Applications Release 9.2.5 (Release 9.2 Update 5). These significant customer-driven application product improvements to empower companies on their journey to becoming digital enterprises. These enhancements also provide companies broad solutions to maintain, improve, and future-proof their businesses.

As part of Quest Experience Week (QXW) 2019, Oracle's own Nick Velharticky and Kirk Harris spoke about the Simplified Diagnostics Collector for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. The Simplified Diagnostics Collector (Collect and Generate Diagnostics) provides a simple interface to efficiently and automatically collect diagnostic data and system information using Server Manager. You have the flexibility to collect data pertaining to Deployment Server, Enterprise Server, HTML Server, and Server Manager Console. The Simplified Diagnostics Collector is now available with Tools Release 9.2.3.4.

Quest recently spoke with Derek D’Alessandro, Vice President of IT at Holiday Retirement, about the company’s upgrade to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 and their move to OCI.

As part of Quest Experience Week (QXW) 2019, Steve McClure, Applications Manager for Weitz Company, spoke about the company's journey through applying the latest Electronic Software Updates (ESUs) and becoming code current after its upgrade to EnterpriseOne 9.2 in 2017. With Oracle’s shift towards a rapid release model for 9.2 instead of major release upgrades, companies committed to EnterpriseOne will need to go through this kind of exercise at least once every twelve to eighteen months. Doing this sort of assessment, whether a company proceeds with the updates or not, is what continuous delivery is all about. 

Quest spoke with Don Sauve, Programmer/Analyst, at Wagstaff about the company’s upgrade to 9.2 and all of the new features that employees have started leveraging within the organization.

The only thing that is constant is change. JD Edwards began with World, then moved on to Client Server, then introduced HTML client, and now there’s EnterpriseOne 9.2. Clayton Seeley, a Product Architect on the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Development team, spoke at COLLABORATE 19 about how to streamline the process when upgrading to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2. He walked through the latest upgrade improvements that can help cut weeks off of your upgrade process. JD Edwards has automated the process of getting code current during an upgrade, which removes manual steps like applying ESUs, special instructions, and Tools releases.
