Turner's Pipe Fabrication facilities were manually tracking employee attendance in three offline systems. From corrupt spreadsheets to individual employee files which resulted in a cumbersome process that consumed valuable hours of HR clerical time each day. This inefficiency not only hindered the aggregation of historical employee data but also made it nearly impossible to provide timely notifications to foremen and employees regarding attendance issues.
To address these challenges, Turner implemented a custom application within the E1 system that streamlined the tracking of absences, late arrivals, early departures, and other relevant events. This custom application also allowed for automated reports and notifications via ReportsNow, significantly enhancing the efficiency of the attendance management process. By centralizing data and automating notifications, the application reduced the HR clerical workload by an impressive 40%, freeing up time for more strategic HR initiatives.
Additionally, the implementation of this application across all facilities has fostered consistency and improved communication regarding attendance management. With all locations utilizing the same E1 application, Turner has not only improved operational efficiency but also created a more cohesive work environment.

Learn from Brigham Young University's experience maintaining PeopleSoft Campus Solutions as HR and Finance moved to the Cloud. We implemented a backfill strategy at the start to support PeopleSoft which allowed our internal PeopleSoft team to focus on the new Cloud implementation. We prepared BYU staff to support the changes to the HR and Finance system while a PeopleSoft managed service provider operated PeopleSoft day-to-day. In additional, to keeping Campus Solutions healthy, the managed service provider also retrofitted Campus Solutions to be integrated with HR and Finance in the Cloud. The journey continues in 2025 as we lift and shift PeopleSoft Campus Solutions to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). We deep dive into each of the integrations, retrofit work, and other activities allowing PeopleSoft Campus Solutions to keep running smoothly across campus during the transition and afterwards.

This presentation addresses the critical challenges enterprise IT leaders face as they navigate the conflicting demands of operational stability and transformative innovation. John, founder of Allari, will unpack the “IT Leadership Paradox,” which forces leaders to make difficult prioritization decisions that impact their ability to deliver consistent performance while driving growth.
The session explores systemic barriers within IT organizations, including resource limitations, recurring inefficiencies, and the reactive cycles that hinder progress.
It also examines the ethical responsibility of vendors in aligning their solutions with the readiness of IT organizations, emphasizing the need for sustainable innovation practices that deliver long-term value rather than short-term fixes.
With actionable insights, the keynote will provide strategies for leveraging metrics like Change Success Rate (CSR) and Throughput of Effective Change (TEC) to build trust, demonstrate IT’s value, and transform operations.
The discussion will highlight the role of “footholds”—incremental adjustments that stabilize operations and create the capacity for innovation—helping IT leaders position their teams as strategic enablers of organizational success in 2025 and beyond.
This session offers a framework for balancing stability and innovation while fostering ethical collaboration between IT leaders and vendors
