Since Activity Guides first came out, PeopleSoft has updated and renovated it to a newer version that is even more useful during Onboarding and Offboarding.

One of the nice things about Onboarding and Offboarding is that Oracle has been delivering different examples of both. What this does is give you a really good starting point for being able to use the Activity Guide for many other types of Functions.  Another nice thing about Onboarding and Offboarding with Activity Guides is its versatility during this COVID-19 Pandemic.

With the Fluid User Interface, PeopleSoft is able to deliver the Onboarding and Offboarding process on any type of mobile device. Therefore, it is very flexible for both employees and managers to utilize.  Much of the Functionality delivered with the Activity Guides will enable you to include videos and demonstrations.  From an Onboarding perspective, this allows you to introduce your new hire to your culture. The goal is to bring new hires into the culture sooner so that they can become more productive more quickly.

SpearMC has been in the PeopleSoft space since the company’s birth in 2004-2005. A few years ago, when Oracle partners in the PeopleSoft sphere determined to go all-in in other areas, the decision-makers at SpearMC doubled down on PeopleSoft. They refocused their efforts for a variety of reasons. They liked where Oracle was headed with respect to Applications Unlimited, supporting PeopleSoft, and enhancing PeopleSoft. They continue to feel that moving PeopleSoft to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure can extend the life in a model that adds value to the organization, where organizations can license the software and keep ongoing costs low, but also leverage the best parts of Cloud Infrastructure.

PeopleSoft HCM Update Image 35 was recently released, and it contains a long list of helpful new features.

An Oracle YouTube video provided an overview of PeopleSoft Fluid Delegations. Delegations give users the ability to have someone else act on their behalf to initiate or approve a PeopleSoft transaction. Delegations are available for both Financials and Supply Chain Management (FSCM) and Human Capital Management (HCM) users.

As part of the PeopleSoft HCM Configuration Series, Hannah Gacey and Mike Betschart from King County spoke about King County’s integrated release set and approach to customization management. In 2015, King County adopted a release set delivery strategy to align human capital management (HCM) system updates with PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) Image releases. This strategy has been refined over the years to keep King County current with the latest available Images and give users access to the latest features and functionality.

During the presentation, Gacey and Betschart discussed King County’s approach to Images, how King County is creating a culture of innovation by actively managing customizations, utilizing Event Mapping to using testing automation, and implementing release sets every six to eight weeks.

PeopleSoft OffBoarding provides a simple and intuitive way to help employees, managers, and others with the important tasks required when an employee leaves your organization.

In PeopleSoft HCM, the PeopleSoft Business Partners feature lets you define specific people in your organization to serve as Human Resources liaisons for groups of employees. You can define groups by work location, business unit, department, job, last name, or any other criteria. The liaisons, or business partners, can be HR generalists or specialists like payroll business partners, benefits business partners, etc. If you have a shared HR service center model, you can define your organization's HR representatives and define the employees they serve.
