As part of the PeopleSoft HCM Configuration Series, Hannah Gacey and Mike Betschart from King County spoke about King County’s integrated release set and approach to customization management. In 2015, King County adopted a release set delivery strategy to align human capital management (HCM) system updates with PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) Image releases. This strategy has been refined over the years to keep King County current with the latest available Images and give users access to the latest features and functionality.

During the presentation, Gacey and Betschart discussed King County’s approach to Images, how King County is creating a culture of innovation by actively managing customizations, utilizing Event Mapping to using testing automation, and implementing release sets every six to eight weeks.

Oracle JD Edwards recently announced EnterpriseOne Tools Release 9.2.4.3 with enhancements that drive digital process transformation and significant improvements in user experience, along with updated platform certifications. Oracle has also announced the delivery of high-value customer-driven enhancements that can be easily implemented. These enhancements are focused on improving user productivity, extending business processes, and supporting new business processes in many applications across JD Edwards including Capital Asset Management, Financials, Grower Management, HCM, Inventory, Manufacturing, Order Management, Procurement, Project Costing, Quality Management, Real Estate, Service Management, and Warehouse Management along with legislative, regulatory, and localization updates.

At RECONNECT 19, Memorial Hospital at Gulfport's David Vandiver spoke about a PeopleSoft Monitoring Tool that was built using PeopleTools' Application Engine. The end result is a recurring process that uses PSQuery to check the health of the system. When issues are found, the designated staff can receive a formatted email showing what was detected, and the results show up on mobile devices as well without having to log back into PeopleSoft. You also have the ability to add new PSQuery alerts when needed, without writing additional code or migrating projects each week.
