JR Simplot is a HEAVILY modified JDE XE customer upgrading directly to E1 9.1 w/ minimal external resources. In order to meet our goal of no business interruption we had to ensure that all base functionality and our custom code works correctly at go-live. We developed a strategy of robust, precise test scenarios written for experienced users to ensure that even medium to small issues are discovered early. We were looking to avoid the 'stabilization' period of an initial implementation. At Simplot the initial JDE XE implementation was successful but had many issues that were not found during testing. For this project those issues must be found during testing, not after go-live - the business has grown and matured and similar issues will not be tolerated. We believe that this methodology identified every possible area of failure before go-live. We did not expect zero issues but believe found any business interrupting issues and the remaining ones are very minor.
